Following a very successful day in Mullaghmore, we will be leading another workshop for choirs and their directors of the Diocese of Elphin. This will take place in Kilbride Community Centre in Four Mile House on Saturday March 3, from 10.30am to 3.00pm. The cost of €15.00 covers a full music pack and hot lunch. The day will include new music for use throughout the year, music for Holy Week and Easter, and the hymn for the World Meeting of Families. Early booking is advisable: please email justin@elphindiocese.ie before February 28.

GIA Publications will be releasing two collections of mine in the next couple of months: a revised Here in Christ we Gather collection (you might recall this from a few years back), and a new collection called Our Hearts are Restless. These will be available in CD format and octavo collection, and should be available from March onwards.

Momentum is gathering towards the World Meeting of Families, held in Dublin in August this year. Pope Francis has assured us of a papal visit during this event - it is sure to be a powerful occasion in the life of the Irish Church, and will hopefully provide seeds of renewal and rebirth. I am privileged to be part of this event in that my own hymn A Joy for All the Earth has been chosen as the official hymn of this event. It is hoped that every parish will learn this hymn in advance of the World Meeting of Families; the website has a number of different versions (for assembly, guitar edition, full edition with organ and brass parts, and in different translations). The official video to accompany the hymn is well-crafted and should assist people in learning the music.
